Danny and Shelly Yee recently opened a bakery in Dublin, CA. A few years ago, Shelly was working full time in the telecommunications industry.

Fueling Passion by Attending Baking School

Danny and Shelly Yee are a unique couple. Although they recently opened Sheldan’s Bakery in Dublin, CA, both are trained in technology. Danny, while helping with the bakery, is still a network engineer. Shelly decided to leave her job in telecommunications and attend baking school in San Francisco. She now works 15 hour days, six days a week, and she usually starts baking at 4 a.m.

Although running their own bakery is not easy, the Yees are encouraged to keep going by their many happy customers. Additionally, the many hours Shelly puts in baking are rewarding to her because she’s finally doing something she really enjoys. She enjoys the artistic aspect of baking.

Change Careers and Go to Baking School

If you are thinking about changing careers and love to bake, you may want to take a page out of the Yee’s playbook. Shelly Yee is a perfect example of how it is possible to change your life in order to do something you love. If you are thinking about a baking career, look into baking schools in your area, and think about enrolling. There are a number of baking schools that offer courses part time for working professionals.

Although starting over in a career can be tough in the beginning, there’s nothing more gratifying than working hard in order to make a living doing something you love.
