So, we've all heard of celebrities who have their own personal chefs. In fact, Oprah Winfrey's former personal chef, Rosie Daley, has become a celebrity in her own right.
Celebrity Personal Chef Rosie Daley
Rosie Daley is a New Jersey native and credits sharing cooking responsibilities with her large family (she has 12 brothers and sisters) for her early interest in cuisine. Daley worked various jobs in the food industry before she landed a job as the head chef at the Cal-a-Vie spa in San Diego. This is where she met Oprah, who was so impressed with Daley's healthy, delicious meals that she invited Daley to become her personal chef.
Rosie accepted the offer and worked for Oprah as her personal chef for five years. During that time, she published her first cookbook, In the Kitchen with Rosie: Oprah's Favorite Recipes. The book quickly became one of the top-selling cookbooks of all time.
Personal Chef Jobs with Families
Of course, Oprah and her rich and famous friends are not the only ones with personal chefs these days. Personal chef jobs are turning up everywhere. Many busy families are now turning to personal chefs to assist them in creating healthy, balanced meals every day.
The job of many personal chefs is to come into the client's home every day, bringing with them the fresh ingredients they will need for the meal. They prepare the meal in the client's home, which may be served immediately or stored for reheating and service later on.
The job of some personal chefs is to come in only once or twice a week and freeze the meals they have prepared for the client to eat during the week. Jobs for personal chefs are increasing as people place increasing importance on health and convenience.
