Most dogs eat plain ol' dog food, some get table scraps, but Rudy Edalati's dogs get the best of both worlds -- they get full home-cooked meals. Edelati started researching nutrition for dogs after her dog Hannah became sick from eating commercial dog food; now she has a full time business (Barker's Grub), preparing homemade dog food to deliver to homes, veterinarians, and specialty stores. She even has a cookbook out -- "Barker's Grub: Easy, Wholesome Home Cooking for Your Dog" -- where she shares her recipes:
"Occasionally, I'll prepare my dogs a spaghetti dinner using whole-wheat Barilla pasta... I cook the tomatoes, which are higher in antioxidants (cooked) than raw, and I make meatballs with ground turkey. Bell peppers have natural pesticides, so I don't use them."
Spaghetti dinner?!? Lucky dogs, indeed.
